This morning I received my latest artbooks purchases, and I thought that I could consider my love for artbooks sort of an hobby, the hobby of collecting artbooks.
I received these two books and HOLY COW. I NEED TO GUSH ABOUT HOW GOOD HORIKOSHI ART IS. For a few years, he has been one of my inspirations and one of my favorite artists, because he is so amazing at coloring and I absolutely admire his way of making digital pieces which feel almost traditionally made. Aside from the fact he is crazy good at traditional art too. Also the thick lines and color are something I love SO MUCH and I try to achieve with my art… but… that’s a story for another day. I am gonna share only a few photos because… buy it please……..

It all started from there
Seeing these books reinvigorated me with some new energy to draw. I am mostly someone who likes to draw couples / pairs and stuffs like that but I need to tell myself that doesn’t make me a worse artist. Not like I consider who does that bad, it’s just… a way to put myself down my brain uses against me.. and I am learning to fight against!
It has been a lot of years … and sometimes I still remember my dear and long time friend’s Kobra words they told me long ago, that they admired the fact I drew a lot of couples because it’s actually hard coming up with poses for that all the time…. Honestly even if I drew still life or fruits all day, I would still consider myself a good artist.
The subjects we choose don’t make us good or bad artists, it’s more of the heart we put in the craft.
(But if you use AI for work thats supposed to be creative I won’t have respect for you)
